Лицо, которое единолично или в сотрудничестве с другими лицами организует и проводит клиническое испытание и под непосредственным руководством которого исследуемый лекарственный препарат вводится или выдается испытуемому, или принимается последним. Этот термин относится только к физическим лицам (не распространяется на частные компании или ведомства). Обязательства спонсора-исследователя включают в себя обязательства и спонсора, и исследователя.
